Mechanical Design EngineerSalary: £45,000£50,000 Depending on ExperienceLocation: Portland, DorsetJoin a growing engineering organisation delivering deployable infrastructure solutions for defence, government and remote operations worldwide.You will work across the full design lifecycle, developing innovative systems that progress from concept through manufacture, integration and deployment.Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and the on-site integration facility, you will play a key role in creating practical, high-quality engineering solutions while seeing your designs brought to life in real-world applications.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawingsSupport design analysis and validation activities, including FEA where requiredCreate and manage Bills of Materials and technical documentationSupport designs through manufacture, integration and deliveryWork closely with suppliers, project teams and the on-site integration facilityContribute to technical proposals, tenders and project delivery activitiesRequirements:Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineExperience working in a mechanical design engineering role in a highly regulated industryStrong 3D CAD experience, Autodesk Inventor preferredExperience supporting designs through to manufacture or deliveryKnowledge of BS and ISO standardsExperience with Bills of Materials and technical documentationSupplier management and RFQ experience would be highly desirableExperience working on international projects would be beneficialBenefits:25 days annual leave, Private Medical Insurance (BUPA), life assurance (3.5x salary), pension scheme, salary sacrifice schemes including eBike and electric vehicle programmes, wellbeing support, and excellent opportunities for career development.Due to the nature of work at our clients site, successful applicants must have resided in the UK for the last 5+ consecutive years to be eligible to obtain SC clearance.Electus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to a number of high technology industries.
