You will be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Commercial Manager, Managing Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor. Working on commercial projects from pre contract stage through to completion, you will ensure contract returns are maximised, alongside completing forecasting across all areas within your works.As the Quantity Surveyor you will ideally have worked in a similar industry with experience of working on Highways, Infrastructure or Maintenance Projects in your career.Main ResponsibilitiesDay to day responsibilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor will include (not exhaustive):Building strong relationships with internal and client counterparts as well as working with members of the team to attain your full potentialEngaging and managing sub-contracts includingtenderenquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applicationsSupportingthe production of monthly CVR'sWorking to produce both internal and client forecastsProduction and substantiation through to agreement of associated Final AccountsEnsuring all JB Riney and client processes are followed to minimise commercial riskWorking with the wider team and ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collectionIn this role you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the businesses of JB Riney, Tarmac and CRHA car / car allowance is available with this role and therefore you must hold a FULL UK car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points - You must be able to travel across the region of workThe Ideal CandidateAs our ideal Quantity Surveyor here at JB Riney you will have:ESSENTIAL- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial SurveyingESSENTIAL- NEC TSC contract experience,togetherwith ICC Term Contract knowledgeGoodinterpersonaland problem-solving skillsGood oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical abilityProcessdrivenwith strong commercial awareness and good negotiation skillsThe role is based at located at Belvedere in Erith, South East London.This role is commutable from Greater London, Woolwich, Dagenham, Dartford, Rainham, Romford, East Ham, Wanstead, Gravesend, Hackney, Romford, Stratford, Orpington, Barking and the surrounding areas.At Riney, our people are our company.Riney is a long-established Civil Engineering company who have operated in the Greater London area for over 40 years specialising in Highway Maintenance Contracts.Working alongside many Local Authorities and Councils, our well-earned reputation is built on local knowledge, reliability, quality products, services and a customer focused delivery.As part of the national Tarmac business which sits within the global CRH family, the career opportunities are limitless.
