Contracts Manager

Would you like to be part of Vital Energis Strategy of Growth?If so, we are currently recruiting a Contracts Manager to work on sites across London.The role will include being responsible for the delivery of contracts safely, on programme, on budget to the client and Vital Energi standards. Development of client relationships, liaison with sub-contractors and suppliers of materials or services to Vital Energi. The management and supervision of a project installation team and the delegating of tasks accordingly.Key Duties:Oversee main project delivery aspect of significant projectsAttend pre-contract meetings in conjunction with senior commercial staffUnderstand the contract and client requirements for performance and delivery of the projectsManage all aspects of the contract(s) with the aid of Project Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and Planning ManagerApprove and maintain construction programmes.Approve and maintain inspection and test plans, commissioning programmesEnsure O&M manuals are produced and issued in accordance with the project requirementsEnsure Vital Energi QA procedures are followed, projects are defect free and successfully completedProduce health and safety plans with overall responsibility for site health and safetyManage the project team in ensuring that project viability is maintainedSecure labour and sub-contractors for the projectAttend site meetings and produce contract status reportsReview systems and methods when required to improve contract performanceWork closely with the client to further develop relationships and promote the companyEngage with potential clients to build relationships and work as a key member of a bid team.Promote and comply with the Companys policies on equality and health and safety both in the delivery of service and the treatment of others.Education:HND or degree qualification in an Engineering subject is essentialChartered Engineering status preferredQualifications:Health and Safety Qualification such as SMSTS, Nebosh etc. desirable.Knowledge:Several years experience as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager controlling a large value project or a number of lesser projects at one time.Experience of undertaking projects as the Principal ContractorA proven track record of a similar role within a related engineering environmentPersonal QualitiesExcellent financial awareness and understanding of the need to adhere to strict timetables to maximise profits and have the ability to identify potential problems and resolve them at an early stage.A flexible approach to working practices and hoursExceptional organisational skillsGood Oral and Written Communication SkillsA high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacyGood IT Skills, including Microsoft Office.Confident manner, with ability to work to deadlines, whilst remaining focussedA full UK driving licenceGeneral CompetenciesProblem SolvingGather information from a range of sources, and analyse to identify problems and issues and make effective decisions.CommunicationCommunicate needs, instructions and decisions clearly.
