We are looking for Class 1 Flux Core Welders to join our team at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.This is a great opportunity to work on exciting submarine engineering projects.What you'll need:Strong capability in Flux Core welding on heavy plate, structural steel, or marine-grade materialsExperience working in shipbuilding, ship repair, infrastructure, or large-scale construction environmentsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and technical instructionsConfident use of welding sets, fabrication tools, and general workshop equipmentMarine engineering background or experience on Royal Navy or commercial vessels - DesirableTime-served trade apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, marine, or naval engineering - DesirableIndentured Apprenticeship relevant to welding - DesirableLevel 3 Engineering or Modern Apprenticeship - DesirableLevel 2 Engineering qualification supported by significant practical experience - DesirableA drive to own and shape your career development journey.What you'll do:Apply Flux Core welding to a variety of heavy-duty marine and structural componentsButt Welds 25mm/Fillet Welds 12mmWork on submarines, surface ships, dockside infrastructure, and controlled factory environmentsOperate welding and some fabrication equipment to consistently high standardsRead and interpret complex engineering drawings from a welding perspective, procedures, and technical specificationsWork closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to meet tight safety and performance targetsSecurity ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.IR35: InsideDuration: Long Term.Standard pay:PAYEPre 12 weeks - Standard £27.64/hour - Backshift £34.55/hourPost 12 Weeks - Standard £27.64/hour - Backshift £32.62/hourUmbrellaPre 12 weeks - Standard £35.24/hour - Backshift £44.14/hourPost 12 weeks - Standard £36.02/hour - Backshift £42.58/hourShift and additional hours availableTravel allowance paid for candidates who live more than 35 miles from the site.Please apply by sending your most up-to-date CV and relevant qualification certificateTPBN1_UKTJ
