Test EngineerLocation: Clevedon, North Somerset (own transport required)Contract Type: Temporary ongoingHoliday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays (pro rata, accrued)Start Date: ImmediateShift Pattern Monday to Wednesday: 14:30 00:30Thursday: 14:30 00:00Pay RatesPM Shift: £23.89 - £24.91 per hour (including shift premium, depending on experience)Overtime Rates:1.75x standard hourly rate for weekday overtime2.0x standard hourly rate for weekend overtimeAdditional Benefits Weekly or Monthly Pay available£250 gift card after successful completion of 4-month probation£500 gift card after 12 months serviceOverviewPertemps are currently recruiting for Test Engineers on behalf of Edwards Vacuum based in Clevedon.This role will support the testing, validation, and fault-finding of advanced vacuum systems and associated equipment. You will be responsible for carrying out functional and performance testing, diagnosing faults, analysing test data, and ensuring products meet the required quality and performance standards prior to customer delivery.Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams, you will play a key role in supporting new product introduction, continuous improvement activities, and maintaining Edwards Vacuum's high standards of quality and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesTesting & Engineering DutiesCarry out functional and performance testing of vacuum systems and assembliesSet up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and measurement systemsPerform fault finding and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system issuesInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentationRecord, analyse, and report test results accuratelyComplete test procedures and documentation in line with company standardsSupport product validation and qualification activitiesIdentify root causes of failures and support corrective actionsAssist with improvements to test methods, processes, and equipmentEnsure products meet quality, safety, and performance requirementsResponsibilities Work in line with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standardsMaintain high standards of workmanship and product qualityWork collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production teamsSupport investigations into product issues and non-conformancesMaintain accurate records and complete documentationFollow technical instructions, procedures, and company processesMaintain a clean, organised, and safe working environmentSkills & ExperienceEssential Previous experience in an engineering test, manufacturing, or production environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience with fault finding and problem solvingStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to analyse technical information and test resultsGood communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamDesirable Experience testing mechanical, electrical, or vacuum systemsKnowledge of pressure testing, leak testing, or vacuum technologyExperience using test equipment and measurement instrumentationExperience with data analysis or automated test systemsKnowledge of continuous improvement techniquesBasic understanding of electrical systems and controlsApply NowIf you're an experienced Test Engineer looking for your next opportunity with a leading engineering company, please apply with your up-to-date CV.Alternatively, call Pertemps Bristol Engineering on 0117 929 4422 to speak with one of our consultants and find out more about the role.TPBN1_UKTJ
