About the RoleOur client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their growing Finance team based in Rotherham. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, taking ownership of your workload while working closely with the wider finance team.The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. They will take pride in producing accurate work, meeting deadlines and contributing positively to a growing business.As the company continues to grow, there will be genuine opportunities for career development for individuals who demonstrate ambition, initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess supplier invoices accurately and maintain the purchase ledger.Raise, process and reconcile purchase orders.Complete daily bank and company credit card reconciliations.Process and reconcile company credit card transactions, ensuring supporting documentation is maintained.Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.Maintain reconciliation schedules and ensure financial records remain accurate.Respond to supplier and customer queries professionally and efficiently.Prepare and submit VAT returns.Assist with financial reporting, analysis and general finance administration.Support the wider Finance team with ad hoc tasks as required.About YouEssentialPrevious experience within an accounts or finance role.Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.Excellent organisation and time management skills.Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and reconciliations.DesirableExperience using Xero or other cloud-based accounting software.AAT qualified, currently studying, or interested in pursuing an AAT qualification.Experience working within a busy or growing business environment.TPBN1_UKTJ
