2nd Shift Shipping Lead Location: Corona, CA Shift: 2nd Shift Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and motivated 2nd Shift Shipping Lead to join our aluminum manufacturing team in Corona, CA. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving operations, supervising warehouse personnel, ensuring safety and housekeeping standards are maintained, and supporting efficient shipping processes. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, warehouse experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead and supervise the 2nd Shift Shipping and Receiving team, providing direction, training, and support. Learn and maintain all shipping documentation and paperwork requirements. Utilize the EPICS system to process shipping transactions and scan tickets accurately. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time deliveries. Ensure toolboxes (safety meetings) are completed twice weekly. Verify that forklift operators complete daily forklift inspection checklists before each shift. Promote and maintain excellent housekeeping throughout the shipping department. Ensure team members maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Operate and train employees on all shipping equipment and machinery. Inspect materials, inventory, and shipping documentation for accuracy. Schedule dross pickups and coordinate related logistics. Train new employees or coordinate training with qualified team members. Monitor order status, production schedules, and shipping priorities to ensure customer requirements are met. Communicate unusual or out-of-the-ordinary situations to management in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and shipping operations. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise approximately 7 Shipping and Receiving employees. Assign daily work and monitor employee performance. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures. Support employee development through coaching and on-the-job training. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of six months of related shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the aluminum extrusion industry, manufacturing processes, and customer requirements is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management at all levels. Required Skills Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and shipping operations. Experience using EPICS or similar ERP systems preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Mechanical aptitude and experience operating material handling equipment. Forklift certification is preferred or the ability to become certified. Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety practices. Experience coordinating shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate shipping records and inventory. Training New Employee Orientation Quality Management System (QMS) Training and Annual Refresher KP-6 Shipping & Receiving Training Physical & Technical Requirements Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, sales orders, quality standards, and safety procedures. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and measurements. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required throughout the shift.
