Job Description
This opportunity is for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a 503A Compounding Pharmacy based in Kennett Square, PA. Serving as the pharmacy’s highest-level leader, the PIC is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient prescription fulfillment along with all sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. This role holds full regulatory accountability under state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards, while overseeing daily operations related to quality control, personnel training, environmental monitoring, and facility readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the legally designated PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses unless otherwise assigned
- Serve as the primary liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies
- Manage proper reporting of operational, ownership, facility, or PIC changes
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations with quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts
- Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff
- Oversee batch record creation, execution, review, and approval processes
- Coordinate production scheduling to ensure timely delivery, inventory accuracy, and capacity planning
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Minimum 5 years as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager
- Comprehensive knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable state/federal regulations for 503A operations
- Proven experience leading audits and successfully managing regulatory inspections
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Flexible availability on Saturdays if needed
