Job Description
Step into a rewarding role as a full-time occupational therapist for the upcoming 26/27 school year! This contract opportunity offers the chance to work in a supportive educational environment serving either preschoolers or K-8 students in a developmental program. With a manageable caseload of approximately 60 students and a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) to supervise, you’ll have the tools and collaboration to make a real difference in your students’ lives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to supervise and support a COTA for student-driven outcomes
- Adaptability and creativity in delivering therapeutic interventions
- Commitment to enhancing student participation and functional independence
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to a caseload of about 60 students
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized intervention plans
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise and mentor the assigned COTA
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough, timely documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal-setting
- Support safe, inclusive, and engaging school environments
