Job Description
Make an immediate impact this school year by supporting students in grades 1 through 5 as a contract Occupational Therapist. In this engaging role, you'll work closely with a small group of 12 students, providing essential OT services within a welcoming and collaborative educational setting. With a manageable and focused caseload, you'll deliver 5.5 direct hours per week, allowing you to concentrate on individualized interventions that facilitate real progress for each child.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting student assessments and developing individualized OT plans
- Providing direct therapy to elementary students, supporting their functional and academic goals
- Collaborating with families, teachers, and other professionals to optimize student outcomes
- Maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
- Adapting strategies to best meet developmental and sensory needs of a diverse student population
- Engaging in case meetings as needed to ensure comprehensive support
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong understanding of sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, and adaptive behavior strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
- Creative, flexible, and passionate about encouraging student independence
- Ability to start as soon as possible
