Position Overview:

This role is designed to fulfill the core responsibilities of a nurse, focusing on the assessment, planning, direction, and evaluation of patient care within the Emergency Room setting.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is age-specific and tailored to developmental or specialty needs, utilizing advanced clinical nursing knowledge and skills to ensure patient and family comfort and safety.
  • Accurately and consistently document medical records in a clear and concise manner.
  • Monitor and record signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients.
  • Propose revisions to interventions and desired outcomes based on patient assessments.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of all information and records at all times.
  • Follow physician orders in the provision of nursing care.
  • Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques while delivering patient care.
  • Execute admission, discharge, and transfer procedures effectively.
  • Engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; perform or assist with procedures or treatments as needed. Ensure compliance with legal, hospital, departmental policies, and established nursing standards as defined by the state’s Board of Nursing.
Other Job Functions:
  • Conduct all assigned Quality Assessment activities and maintain documentation.
  • Participate in staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as required.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without any sanctions is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an Emergency Room or comparable setting is required.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association are required; ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS certification; TNCC certification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
  • For candidates in Pennsylvania: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) must be completed within the last 5 years or obtained prior to the start date.
