Job Description
A leading 503A compounding pharmacy seeks a knowledgeable Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee all aspects of sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. This 13-week contract-to-hire opportunity is centered in Kennett Square, PA, with a focus on regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and team leadership.
In this role, you will hold full accountability for ensuring compliance with state, federal, FDA 503A, and USP standards while managing daily pharmacy functions including fulfillment, quality assurance, environmental monitoring, and personnel training. You will be the designated PIC for multiple non-resident state licenses and serve as the main liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as legally designated PIC across all relevant pharmacy licenses
- Lead and supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations, including batch record review and approval
- Coordinate production scheduling to meet delivery timelines and maintain inventory accuracy
- Manage quality assurance initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts
- Act as primary contact during audits and regulatory inspections, handling inquiries and reporting changes
Required Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Minimum 5 years experience as PIC or Pharmacy Manager
- In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable state/federal regulations for 503A pharmacies
- Proven experience leading audits and successfully managing regulatory inspections
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
- Flexibility to work Saturdays as needed
