Job Description
Bring your passion for pediatric occupational therapy to a welcoming school-based setting serving early childhood through second grade students. In this engaging contract position, you’ll support young learners within a collaborative, resourceful team of educators and related service professionals. The school day runs from 7:55am–2:55pm, Monday through Friday, with your assignment set to begin in mid-August and continue through early June.
This rewarding role will have you working directly with students in EC, kindergarten, first, and second grade—helping them develop the skills needed to participate fully in their educational journey. You'll provide creative, evidence-based interventions and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure students receive well-rounded care adapted to their individual needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current OT licensure in Illinois and registration with NBCOT
- Experience in school or pediatric settings
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work harmoniously with students, parents, and school personnel
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management abilities
- COTAs are not eligible for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to support student success
- Deliver direct therapy services and consultative support in classrooms and resource settings
- Track progress, maintain records, and adjust interventions as needed
- Contribute to IEP meetings including goal development and team collaboration
- Educate school staff and families on recommended strategies and accommodations
