Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Completion of a fellowship in Headache Medicine is mandatory
  • Valid State of Michigan License
  • Proficient in managing intricate headache disorders, including chronic migraines, cluster headaches, and medication overuse headaches
  • Skilled in headache procedures such as botulinum toxin injections and nerve blocks
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may involve:

  • Assessing and treating patients with primary and secondary headache disorders
  • Conducting procedures like Botox for chronic migraines and peripheral nerve blocks
  • Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, including pain management, behavioral health, and primary care
  • Creating personalized treatment plans that encompass both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic methods
  • Instructing patients on lifestyle changes, adherence to treatment, and strategies for managing migraines
  • Engaging in team-based care initiatives and quality improvement efforts
