Step into a rewarding opportunity working with young learners in a vibrant educational setting near Waukegan, IL. This contract position is ideal for an Occupational Therapist passionate about making a lasting difference in early childhood and primary education. The role runs from August 17th through June 3rd, aligning with the academic calendar and providing a structured work-life balance.

You'll work on-site from 7:55 AM to 2:55 PM, Monday through Friday, supporting students in early childhood (EC), kindergarten, first, and second grades. Your expertise will play a critical role in promoting independence and skill development for a diverse group of students.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with current credentials to practice in Illinois
  • Experience in a school setting supporting EC, K, 1st, and 2nd-grade students preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and school-based therapy approaches
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with teachers and caregivers
  • Ability to develop creative, goal-oriented interventions tailored to young learners
  • Only OTs are eligible; COTAs are not accepted for this position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative OT services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Administer assessments and document progress in compliance with school standards
  • Create engaging activities that promote motor, sensory, and functional skills
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support each child’s unique needs
  • Communicate therapy strategies to educators and families for continuity of care
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive school environment
