Development Engineer Are you a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate looking to kick-start your engineering career? Do you have experience with SolidWorks and an interest in product development and design? If so, this could be the perfect role for you. Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business, is seeking a Development Engineer to join their team in East Sussex. The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree, experience with product or industrial design, and a proactive approach to supporting the development of innovative products from concept through to manufacture.Development EngineerPermanent PositionSalary: £26,000–£28,000 + BonusMonday to FridayEast SussexDevelopment EngineerJob Description • Support the design and development of new products from concept through to manufacture using SolidWorks• Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation• Assist with product testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities• Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet product development objectives and project milestones• Support prototype builds, evaluations, and design modifications based on test results and customer feedback• Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative ideas for product improvements• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are suitable for production• Assist in maintaining engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision control• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards and company quality procedures• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering teamDevelopment EngineerEssential Experience / Skills / Qualifications • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline• Experience with product design or industrial design, gained through industry, placement, or university projects• Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and engineering drawings• Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach• Strong communication and organisational skills• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team• Keen to develop technical knowledge and build a career within product development If you, or anyone you know are interested in the role, click apply or send your CV and portfolio to
