Project PlannerMorson Edge is recruiting for experienced Project Planners to support the tendering and pre-construction planning of major infrastructure works in Suffolk, with opportunities to transition into project delivery as future schemes are awarded.This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile programme of work, playing a key role in developing and managing project programmes across complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Working closely with delivery, commercial and engineering teams, youll provide robust planning support throughout both tender and construction phases while ensuring compliance with NEC contract requirements.If you have strong Primavera P6 experience, a solid understanding of NEC contracts and enjoy working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, wed love to hear from you.The RoleAs Project Planner, youll be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes that support successful project delivery. Youll work closely with operational, commercial and engineering teams to provide accurate planning information, monitor progress, identify risks and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesProject PlanningDevelop, maintain and update detailed project programmes in accordance with NEC contract requirements, including Accepted Programmes.Produce detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6.Build robust programme logic incorporating key milestones, constraints, contractual dates and critical path analysis.Apply resource and cost loading where required to support project delivery.Commercial & Contract SupportProvide planning input to contractual communications, including Early Warnings, Compensation Events and programme submissions.Support commercial teams with programme analysis relating to delay, disruption and change.Assist in the assessment of Extension of Time (EoT) entitlement under NEC contracts.Progress Monitoring & ReportingMonitor project progress against the Accepted Programme.Identify programme variances, risks and opportunities.Produce weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and KPI reporting.Analyse planned versus actual progress and provide accurate forecasting.Site & Stakeholder EngagementCarry out regular site visits to verify progress and gather programme information.Attend project meetings and work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial Teams and subcontractors.Provide planning advice to support effective project delivery and decision-making.Risk & Programme ManagementDevelop and maintain programme risk registers.Support mitigation planning, recovery programmes and _what-if_ scenario analysis.Identify opportunities to improve programme performance throughout the project lifecycle.This role profile is intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the position. Additional duties may be required in line with business needs and appropriate training and support will be provided where necessary.About YouYoull be an experienced Project Planner with a background in major civil engineering or infrastructure projects and a thorough understanding of programme management within an NEC contract environment.Essential RequirementsExperience as a Project Planner or Planning Engineer within construction, civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and programme requirements.Advanced Primavera P6 experience.Good understanding of critical path analysis, resource planning and earned value management.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.CSCS Card.Working towards or holding membership of a recognised professional body such as APM, ICE or CIOB.Experience delivering major infrastructure projects including highways, rail, water, power or public sector schemes.Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, site management and construction teams.DesirableSMSTS or SSSTS.Experience of groundworks, earthworks and reinforced concrete construction.Experience supporting both tender and live project delivery programmes.What Were Looking ForWere looking for someone who is:Collaborative - Able to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary project teams.Trusted - Committed to delivering accurate, reliable planning information while maintaining the highest professional standards.Focused - Detail-oriented, analytical and proactive, with the ability to identify risks and support successful project outcomes.This is an exciting opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme from the early planning stages and play a key role in shaping future project delivery across Suffolk.TPBN1_UKTJ
