Salary: £80,000£120,000 depending on experience\n

Were supporting a rapidly growing defence technology consultancy as they continue to build a team of exceptional engineers delivering complex solutions across defence and national security environments.

\n

They are looking for experienced Technical Leads who can combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, helping shape solutions, mentor engineers, and work directly with clients.

\n

What youll be doing:\n

\n
• Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
\n
• Remaining hands-on with technical delivery
\n
• Setting technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards
\n
• Making design decisions and managing technical trade-offs
\n
• Running code reviews and design reviews
\n
• Mentoring engineers across different experience levels
\n
• Working directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions
\n
• Supporting estimation, planning, and delivery activities
\n
• Identifying and managing technical debt
\n

What we're looking for:\n

\n
• Strong software engineering background
\n
• Experience leading technical teams or complex engineering projects
\n
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
\n
• Experience with modern engineering practices including: \n
  \n
  • CI/CD
  \n
  • Infrastructure as Code
  \n
  • Cloud platforms
  \n
  • Automated testing
  \n
  • Containerisation and orchestration
  \n
\n
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
\n

Experience within defence, national security, consulting, or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous.

\n
