Head of Health & Safety

Kenneth Brian Associates are partnering with a leading refurbishment and fit-out contractor who are seeking an experienced Head of Health & Safety to lead H&S, fire safety, and temporary works governance across a complex project portfolio.This is a senior leadership role with Board exposure and the authority to stop works where serious risk is identified. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight while maintaining a strong visible presence across live construction sites.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the companys ISO 45001 aligned H&S Management SystemOversee CDM Principal Contractor duties and Temporary Works governanceLead fire safety compliance in line with legislation, JCOP, and insurer requirementsDrive audits, assurance activities, incident investigations, and continuous improvementWork closely with operational teams across sites, promoting a proactive safety cultureChallenge unsafe behaviours and commercial pressures where necessaryReport on risk, compliance, and performance at senior leadership levelRequirementsLevel 6/7 qualification in Occupational Health & SafetyCMIOSH or working towards ChartershipStrong knowledge of:CDM Regulations 2015Building Safety Act 2022Fire Safety legislationTemporary Works / BS 5975Experience within construction, ideally refurbishment or fit-outStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsComfortable being site-based regularly and engaging directly with project teamsAn excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor in a pivotal leadership position with genuine influence across both operations and business strategy.TPBN1_UKTJ
