£750 per day | Hybrid Working | West Midlands Local Authority

We're partnering with a Local Authority to recruit an experienced Corporate Financial Accountant to play a pivotal role in a major Unit4 ERP transformation programme.

\n

This is a high-profile interim opportunity where you'll act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert, leading the finance workstream to optimise the Council's existing Unit4 finance system before supporting the implementation of a new Unit4 HR/Payroll solution.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Lead the finance workstream for a large-scale Unit4 ERP transformation programme.
  • \n
  • Act as the Finance SME, working closely with Finance, IT, HR and external implementation partners.
  • \n
  • Review, redesign and optimise the Chart of Accounts, coding structures, dimensions and financial hierarchies.
  • \n
  • Improve financial controls, governance and end-to-end finance processes.
  • \n
  • Configure and optimise Unit4 to support budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and statutory reporting.
  • \n
  • Drive automation and reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets by improving system functionality.
  • \n
  • Support organisational change, financial restructures and reporting improvements.
  • \n
  • Deliver user training, workshops and knowledge transfer to the permanent finance team.
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • CCAB Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA).
  • \n
  • Significant experience within Local Government Finance.
  • \n
  • Demonstrable experience delivering Unit4 (Agresso) ERP implementation, optimisation or finance transformation projects.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of Chart of Accounts design, financial systems governance and end-to-end finance processes.
  • \n
  • Extensive technical financial accounting experience, including statutory reporting and financial controls.
  • \n
  • Proven experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting through finance systems.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior finance leaders, operational services and implementation partners.
