Job Description
\n We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Terminations Technician to join a fast-paced construction site team responsible for the installation and termination of PLC and instrumentation systems. In this role, the day-to-day will center on wire pulling, landing, and terminating instrumentation and control wiring at panels, junction boxes, field devices, and PLC cabinets, ensuring every connection is accurate, secure, and code-compliant. This position plays a critical role in bringing automated systems online, directly impacting project timelines and the functional integrity of the facility's control infrastructure. The technician will collaborate closely with electricians, instrument fitters, controls engineers, and the site superintendent, reporting to the Electrical/I&C Foreman or Construction Manager. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision wiring work, is comfortable reading loop drawings and P&IDs, and enjoys being part of the hands-on execution phase of large industrial builds.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Terminate instrumentation and control wiring at PLC cabinets, marshalling panels, junction boxes, and field devices \n
- Read and interpret loop drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules to ensure correct terminations \n
- Pull, label, and land control and instrumentation wire in accordance with project specifications \n
- Perform continuity checks, point-to-point verification, and loop checks to confirm proper connections \n
- Troubleshoot and correct wiring discrepancies identified during testing and commissioning \n
- Coordinate with instrument fitters and controls engineers to support system startup and commissioning \n
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and termination records \n
- Follow all site safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area \n
Required Experience/Skills
\n- \n
- Proven experience terminating instrumentation and control wiring on industrial or commercial construction sites \n
- Working knowledge of PLC systems, control panels, and low-voltage wiring practices \n
- Ability to read and interpret loop drawings, P&IDs, and wiring/panel schematics \n
- Experience with continuity testing, point-to-point checks, and loop verification \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship \n
- Ability to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, or in active construction environments as needed \n
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification \n
Nice-to-Haves
\n- \n
- NCCER Instrumentation or Electrical certification \n
- Experience with major PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) \n
- Prior experience on data center, industrial, or utility construction projects \n
- Experience supporting commissioning and startup phases \n
- Familiarity with BMS or SCADA systems \n
Education
\n High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification in instrumentation, electrical, or industrial controls preferred.
