Physician, Obstetrics-Gynecology OR Family Medicine with Obstetrics (Jackson, CA)
Job Description
Our organization is looking to recruit a board-certified or board-eligible Obstetrician-Gynecologist or a Family Medicine Obstetrician to become part of our dedicated team in the picturesque town of Jackson, CA.
OBGYN PositionThe Sutter Amador OB/GYN practice offers a remarkable chance for a qualified obstetrician-gynecologist to join a community-oriented team in the beautiful Sierra Foothills. This role is primarily focused on obstetrics, catering to an underserved patient demographic.
Our practice operates within a 53-bed rural hospital that has limited subspecialty support—there is no NICU, Urology, or Maternal-Fetal Medicine available on-site, although referral options exist at nearby tertiary care facilities. The hospital is renowned for its exceptional labor and delivery nursing staff and has received outstanding feedback from patients regarding the compassionate, high-quality care provided.
On average, the practice handles 20-25 deliveries per month, characterized by low acuity and a strong collaborative team atmosphere. There are opportunities for those interested in expanding the gynecologic surgery program, with access to robotic-assisted surgery to enhance surgical capabilities in a rural environment. Additionally, physicians can engage in graduate medical education, mentoring both OB/GYN and Family Medicine residents participating in a rural residency track. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy guiding and shaping the future of medicine.
The proposed call schedule is as follows:
- Weekday Call: Tuesday-Thursday, two weeks per month (totaling 6 weekdays)
- Weekend Call: Friday-Monday, one weekend per month (totaling 4 weekend days)
This results in 10 total call days per month, reflecting a 1:3 call ratio. Physicians will also rotate at the Sutter Medical Center Sacramento for 1-2 days each month to maintain clinical skills.
Jackson offers a tranquil rural lifestyle while being conveniently located just an hour from Sacramento, providing the best of both worlds.
FMOB PositionThe Sutter Amador FM/OB practice presents an exciting opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible family medicine obstetrician to join a supportive, community-focused team in the scenic Sierra Foothills. This role combines obstetrics with family medicine, serving an underserved patient population.
Similar to the OBGYN position, this practice is based at a 53-bed rural hospital with limited subspecialty support. The hospital is well-regarded for its exceptional labor and delivery nursing staff and has received excellent patient feedback for the compassionate care provided.
The practice averages 15-20 deliveries per month, with low acuity and a collaborative team environment. There are opportunities for a full spectrum of family medicine practice, including pediatrics and procedures alongside obstetrics. Physicians can also participate in graduate medical education, working with both OB/GYN and Family Medicine residents in a rural residency track, making this role ideal for those who enjoy mentoring future physicians.
The proposed call schedule is as follows:
- Weekday Call: Tuesday-Thursday, two weeks per month (totaling 6 weekdays)
- Weekend Call: Friday-Monday, one weekend per month (totaling 4 weekend days)
This results in 10 total call days per month, reflecting a 1:3 call ratio. Physicians will also rotate at the Sutter Medical Center Sacramento for 1-2 days each month to maintain clinical OB skills. Flexible FTE options are available.
