Job Overview

Position: Charge Nurse - CCU

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Coronary Care Unit

Available Shifts: Day and Night

Compensation: Up to $1,451 – $1,982 gross pay weekly; equivalent to $40.32 – $55.06 per hour.

Assignment Duration: 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality of care, documentation, and adherence to regulations.
• Make prompt adjustments to care plans to enhance patient safety.
• Engage in patient and family rounding to improve the overall patient experience.
• Act as a resource for patients, families, and team members.
• Provide direct patient care as necessary to ensure safe staffing levels.
• Support daily operations of the unit and communicate any patient care or safety issues.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and assignments effectively.
• Supervise, mentor, and assess staff performance; assist with performance evaluations.
• Ensure sufficient supplies, equipment functionality, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with various departments to facilitate smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Oversee nursing staff and patient care during the assigned shift.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:

1. Active and valid state RN license
2. Current BLS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain
3. Current ACLS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain
4. At least one year of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital or CCU setting
5. A minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital; critical care experience required
6. Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification within six months of hire and maintain
