State Licensed Fire Alarm Technician

Pay: $28-$32/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
Overtime: Available as project needs require

Position Summary

\n

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Low Voltage Systems Technician to join our growing team. This position offers long-term, stable work installing, programming, servicing, and maintaining a wide variety of low voltage systems for commercial and institutional customers. Candidates must possess a valid State of Ohio Fire Alarm License and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team in the field.

Responsibilities

    \n
  • Install, service, program, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems including: \n
      \n
    • Burglar alarm systems
    • \n
    • Fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional)
    • \n
    • IP and analog video surveillance systems
    • \n
    • Electronic access control systems
    • \n
    • Nurse call systems
    • \n
    • Audio-visual and paging systems
    • \n
    • Voice and data structured cabling
    • \n
    • Fiber optic cabling
    • \n
    • Telephone systems
    • \n
    • Networking equipment and related infrastructure
    • \n
  • \n
  • Perform complete system installations, including: \n
      \n
    • Pulling and terminating low voltage cabling
    • \n
    • Device installation and programming
    • \n
    • Equipment mounting and configuration
    • \n
    • System testing and commissioning
    • \n
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing low voltage systems to ensure proper operation and code compliance.
  • \n
  • Read and interpret: \n
      \n
    • Blueprints
    • \n
    • Electrical drawings
    • \n
    • Building plans
    • \n
    • Manufacturer specifications and installation documents
    • \n
  • \n
  • Verify all installations meet customer specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable local, county, state, and federal codes.
  • \n
  • Perform system testing and inspections to ensure proper functionality and compliance with legal and insurance requirements.
  • \n
  • Install and work with electrical conduit and related support systems when required.
  • \n
  • Configure basic networking equipment and assist with network-related troubleshooting.
  • \n
  • Perform basic PC setup, software installations, and device configuration as needed.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and professional communication with customers while addressing questions or concerns.
  • \n
  • Complete work assignments efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and always leave the job site in better condition than you found it.

Qualifications

  • Valid State of Ohio Fire Alarm License (Required)
  • \n
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • \n
  • Experience installing and servicing low voltage systems
  • \n
  • Familiarity with electrical tools, conduit installation, and wiring practices
  • \n
  • Basic understanding of networking equipment and IT concepts
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings
  • \n
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • \n
  • Basic computer skills, including PC setup and software installation
  • \n
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and workmanship
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • \n
  • Willingness to learn and expand technical capabilities
