Job Overview

In collaboration with the Medical Director of Cardiopulmonary Services and the Department Director, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering direct patient care across various aspects of respiratory treatment, adhering to physician directives and established protocols while considering the patient's age. This role involves providing respiratory care and life support to individuals experiencing issues within the cardiopulmonary system. Key clinical responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and overseeing mechanical ventilation.
  • Providing emergency care as needed.
  • Assisting in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intubation procedures.
  • Monitoring patients' physiological responses to treatments.
  • Educating patients and their families about their health conditions.
  • Instructing on effective disease management strategies.
Sign-On Bonuses

A sign-on bonus of $20,000 is available for Respiratory Therapists with less than one year of experience.

A sign-on bonus of $30,000 is offered for those with over one year of experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited associate degree program in respiratory therapy.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Individuals in this role will not be required to operate vehicles for business purposes.

Note: A frequent driver is defined as someone who uses their personal or organizational vehicle: a) at least once daily, b) for a minimum of five trips per week, or c) averages over 150 miles weekly while performing job duties. Please specify the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form when submitting a request to post this position.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Candidates must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Florida.
