A well-established ground engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Junior Engineering Geologist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years' experience to develop their career while working on a wide range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

\n

The role is predominantly site-based, giving you the opportunity to build strong technical and practical experience while working alongside experienced engineers and engineering geologists.

The role:

    \n
  • Assisting with ground investigations across a variety of sites
  • \n
  • Logging soil and rock to BS5930 standards
  • \n
  • Supervising trial pits, window sampling and borehole investigations
  • \n
  • Coordinating and overseeing drilling contractors
  • \n
  • Collecting soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing
  • \n
  • Carrying out in-situ testing including CBR, soakaway and permeability testing
  • \n
  • Producing factual ground investigation reports
  • \n
  • Assisting with geotechnical and geoenvironmental interpretative reporting
  • \n
  • Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with current health and safety standards
  • \n

Requirements:

    \n
  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence
  • \n
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • \n
  • Willingness to travel and work on sites across the region
  • \n
  • Enthusiastic attitude with a desire to develop a career within ground engineering
  • \n
