Accounts & Payroll AdministratorLocation: South Somerset (commutable from Yeovil, Chard, Ilminster)Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annumJob Type: Full-time/Part Time (pro rata annual salary), Permanent, OnsiteThe OpportunityAn established and growing accountancy practice in South Somerset is seeking an experienced Accounts & Payroll Administrator to join their busy team. Working across a diverse portfolio of clients, you will be responsible for delivering accurate payroll services alongside supporting a range of bookkeeping and accounting activities.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous payroll and accounts experience who enjoys working in a client-focused environment and managing multiple priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesPayrollProcessing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for multiple clients across a range of sectorsEnsuring payrolls are completed accurately and within agreed deadlinesManaging payroll starters and leaversProcessing statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAPAdministering pension auto-enrolment and pension scheme submissionsCalculating holiday pay, overtime, bonuses and other payroll adjustmentsProducing and issuing payslips and payroll reportsResponding to client payroll queries and providing ongoing supportMaintaining employee payroll records in line with current legislationAccounts & BookkeepingMaintaining bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clientsProcessing purchase invoices, sales invoices and bank transactionsPerforming bank reconciliationsAssisting with VAT return preparation and submissionSupporting the preparation of management accountsReconciling balance sheet accountsAssisting with year-end accounts preparationLiaising with clients to obtain financial information and documentationEnsuring client records are maintained accurately and efficientlyPerson SpecificationEssentialPrevious experience within a payroll and accounting/bookkeeping position (5 years+)Knowledge of payroll legislation and pension auto-enrolmentStrong bookkeeping skills including reconciliations and VAT returnsGood working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and client requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDesirableExperience working within an accountancy practice environmentKnowledge of payroll software such as BrightPay, Sage Payroll or Xero PayrollExperience using bookkeeping software such as Xero, QuickBooks or SageAAT qualification or working towards a finance qualificationWhat's on OfferSalary of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experienceOpportunity to work with a varied and interesting client portfolioSupportive and collaborative team environmentOngoing professional development and trainingPension schemeHoliday entitlementFree parkingApply NowIf you have experience in both payroll and accounts and are looking for a varied role within a friendly and professional accountancy practice, we would love to hear from you.Shortlisted applicants will be contacted within 48 working hours.TPBN1_UKTJ
