Senior Manufacturing IT Systems Engineer

Seeking a senior infrastructure engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of manufacturing IT systems across hybrid environments. This role combines Linux and Windows systems engineering, virtualization, automation, enterprise storage, and cloud technologies to deliver highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux and Windows server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, QEMU, etc.) and enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage).
  • Implement and support HashiCorp technologies including Consul, Nomad, Vault, and Boundary.
  • Standardize infrastructure through Ansible, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Develop automation and integrations using Python, Bash, PowerShell, and APIs.
  • Create and maintain scripts, Ansible playbooks, and system automation workflows.
  • Lead infrastructure projects, system migrations, deployments, and modernization initiatives.
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; recommend infrastructure improvements.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise with VMware and virtualization technologies, including vSphere and vCenter.
  • Experience with hypervisors such as VMware, KVM, QEMU, Proxmox, or XCP-NG.
  • 6+ years of Linux administration, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis experience.
  • Strong Python scripting and automation experience.
  • 4+ years of Ansible experience and Infrastructure as Code knowledge.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms, APIs, and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise storage technologies, SAN/NAS solutions, and NFS/SMB/CIFS protocols.
  • Advanced Active Directory administration, including Group Policy, DNS, replication, and identity management.
  • DevOps experience with automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure management.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, SMB, NFS, and DFS.
  • Experience with disaster recovery, high availability, backup solutions, and security best practices.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HashiCorp Enterprise technologies (Vault, Consul, Nomad, Boundary).
  • Experience with Terraform and policy-as-code frameworks.
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms such as Pure Storage, NetApp, HPE, and QNAP.
  • LPIC-1 or similar Linux certification.
  • Experience producing architecture diagrams, project plans, runbooks, and root cause analyses.

Pay Details: $140,000.00 to $180,000.00 per year
