Environmental Health Safety Specialist
Job Description
Immediate Opening: EHS Specialist | $42.50/HR | Tampa, FL
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support plant operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position will play a critical role in maintaining safety compliance, supporting plant leadership, and driving EHS initiatives across the facility.
A large machine guarding project is currently underway, making prior regulatory and machine safety experience highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Support plant-wide Environmental, Health & Safety programs
Conduct audits, inspections, accident investigations, and reporting
Oversee corrective actions and compliance initiatives
Partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, HR, and Leadership teams
Support implementation and maintenance of EHS systems and procedures
Utilize Gensuite to track incidents and corrective actions
Assist with employee orientation and EHS training
Support sustainability initiatives and capital projects
Preferred Hands-On Experience:
Machine Guarding
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Confined Space
Manufacturing or Industrial Safety Environments
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required
3+ years of EHS experience required
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, PPE standards, and environmental compliance
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Certifications:
CSP
ASP
CIH
CEP

PPE Requirements:
Safety shoes
Eye protection
Hearing protection in designated areas
Long pants
