Job Description
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 1
\nHours: 8:45am – 11:45am (15 hours per week)
\nWe are seeking a caring and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a Year 1 pupil with general Special Educational Needs.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 support to help the pupil access learning and participate fully in classroom activities. \n
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored learning strategies and interventions. \n
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in lessons. \n
- Support the pupil's social, emotional, and behavioural development. \n
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs where required. \n
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO. \n
- Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. \n
Essential Requirements

- Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting. \n
- Understanding of Special Educational Needs and inclusive classroom practices. \n
- Patient, nurturing, and supportive approach. \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. \n
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. \n
- Flexible and proactive attitude. \n
