Charity Finance Manager - Winchester

1to1 Group is partnering with the Royal Logistic Corps Charity in Winchester to recruit an experienced Finance Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial operations, governance, and strategic decision-making. We are seeking an individual with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day finances of the charity and associated funds

Monitor income, expenditure, investments and reserves.

Oversee cashflow, banking arrangements and financial controls.

Maintain accurate financial records and audit trails.

Ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements, accounting standards, HMRC regulations and relevant governance frameworks.

Support internal and external audits.

Act as a trusted adviser to trustees and senior stakeholders.

Prepare financial reports and papers for trustee meetings.

Develop forecasting models and management information.

Assess the financial impact of new initiatives and projects.

Oversee funding related to welfare initiatives, veteran support, sporting activities, heritage projects, events and other charitable programmes.

Knowledge and Experience:

AAT qualified, part-qualified, qualified or chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Experience managing financial accounts, budgeting and forecasting.

Strong knowledge of charity finance and governance requirements.

Experience using financial ledger systems such as Sage.

Experience working within the charity, public sector, military or not-for-profit environment.

Experience presenting financial information to boards, trustees or senior leadership teams.
