Dagenham, East London £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (DOE) Full-time | Perm | Rotating Shifts

A leading automotive manufacturer based in Dagenham is seeking a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced industrial environment, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful probation period.

The Role

\n

As a Stores Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring materials and goods are handled efficiently, accurately, and safely.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Receiving and checking incoming deliveries
  • \n
  • Booking goods onto internal and customer systems (full training provided)
  • \n
  • Storing and managing stock effectively
  • \n
  • Picking orders to requisition
  • \n
  • Preparing outbound shipments
  • \n
  • Delivering goods across the plant
  • \n
  • Handling COSHH-controlled products
  • \n
  • Supervising receipt of bulk deliveries (e.g. road tankers up to 30,000L)
  • \n
  • Operating Counterbalance, Reach trucks, and tow trucks
  • \n
  • Interacting with internal teams and customers on site
  • \n
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times
  • \n

About You

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial/automotive environment
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
  • \n
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Excel, data entry)
  • \n
  • Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • \n
  • Basic mental arithmetic skills
  • \n
  • Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role
  • \n
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • \n
  • Committed to health & safety standards
  • \n

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Previous warehouse or stores experience (or transferable skills)
  • \n
  • FLT licences (Counterbalance B1 / Reach D1 / Tow Trucks)
  • \n
  • Experience with stock control systems
  • \n
  • Customer-facing experience
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence
  • \n
\n

Note: FLT training/refresher courses can be provided for the right candidate.

Working Hours & Shifts

\n
    \n
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • \n
  • Monday to Friday
  • \n
\n

Rotating Shift Pattern (8-hour shifts):

    \n
  • Early: 06:30 – 14:30
  • \n
  • Late: 14:30 – 22:30
  • \n
  • Night: 22:30 – 06:30
  • \n
\n

Typical rotation (subject to business needs):

  • Week 1: Early
  • \n
  • Week 2: Late
  • \n
  • Week 3: Early
  • \n
  • Week 4: Late
  • \n
  • Week 5: Nights
  • \n

Contract Details

  • Successful candidates will be offered a permanent contract with Rubix following probation
