Quality Manager Location: Surrey (Office-based with flexibility available)Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager or a Senior Quality Engineer looking to step into their first management position.Key Responsibilities\n

  • Take full ownership of the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it remains compliant, effective and continuously improved.
  • \n
  • Manage internal and external quality audits, including preparing and leading Management Reviews.
  • \n
  • Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet quality standards, customer requirements and applicable legislation.
  • \n
  • Maintain external quality accreditations, including ISO 9001 and other relevant industry certifications.
  • \n
  • Review, update and promote quality procedures across all manufacturing and support functions.
  • \n
  • Oversee quality assurance activities, including inspection of incoming materials, work in progress and finished products.
  • \n
  • Lead investigations into non-conformances, carrying out root cause analysis and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
  • \n
  • Coordinate external certification audits and maintain compliance with all accreditation requirements.
  • \n
  • Manage calibration schedules for inspection equipment and measurement devices, ensuring all equipment remains within calibration.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality standards, including managing approved supplier processes.
  • \n
  • Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • \n
  • Plan and conduct internal audits across all departments to ensure compliance with quality procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Support document control, engineering change management and drawing revision processes.
  • \n
  • Promote quality awareness throughout the business through coaching, training and collaboration with colleagues.
  • \n
  • Support compliance with company policies relating to Health & Safety, environmental management, equality, anti-bribery and other corporate governance requirements.

Person Specification\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • \n
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • \n
  • Experience leading internal and external audits.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • \n
  • Experience managing non-conformance and corrective action processes.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across all areas of the business.
  • \n
  • Experience of supplier quality management would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of ATEX or other regulated industry standards would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • \n
  • Health & Safety experience or qualifications would be advantageous for candidates interested in developing into a wider QHSE role.
