Job Description
NMS Recruit are seeking someone with strong knowledge and experience in electricity distribution network reliability to help shape the build of products. You'll work alongside Product Managers and Engineering teams to make sure the products solve real problems faced by network operators. You'll use your operational knowledge to help define customer problems, guide solution design and influence technical direction from an early stage.This isn't a software engineering or product management role. Instead, you'll act as the domain expert, bringing practical industry experience to product discovery, solution design and customer engagement.What you'll be doing• Work with Product Managers to understand customer challenges and turn them into clear problem statements and product opportunities.• Help design end-to-end solutions that work across software, data, analytics and operational processes.• Ensure proposed solutions are practical, technically feasible and aligned with operational, regulatory and safety requirements.• Support strategic customer engagements by providing technical expertise and helping shape solution approaches.• Identify emerging industry trends, regulatory changes and operational challenges that should influence our products.• Provide trusted technical guidance to customers, Product teams and Engineering.What success looks like• Help Product teams clearly define customer problems before development begins.• Reduce costly redesign by identifying operational or regulatory issues early.• Improve consistency across products by encouraging joined-up thinking.• Build confidence with customers through your technical expertise.• Influence product and technical decisions using your industry knowledge.Essential Experience• Strong expertise in electricity distribution network reliability or a closely related area.• Experience working within, or closely with, electricity network operators or regulated utility organisations.• A good understanding of distribution network operations and the challenges they face.• Experience contributing to complex technical solutions involving operational systems, software, data or analytics.• Experience influencing technical or product decisions through structured analysis and industry expertise.Essential Knowledge\n

- Salary £60,000 - £80,000 DOE \n
- Hybrid working \n
- Holidays: 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, with an extra day for every three years completed (up to a maximum of 30 days). Ability to buy an additional 5 days. \n
