Senior Management Accountant

I'm currently partnering with a growing and ambitious professional services organisation seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take ownership of financial controls, balance sheet integrity, and month-end reporting while playing a key role in strategic and commercial decision-making. Working closely with the Head of Financial Operations and CFO, you'll have the opportunity to drive improvements, influence stakeholders, and support the continued growth of the business.

The Role

As Senior Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust controls, and delivering meaningful financial insights to support business performance.

Key duties will include:

Financial Reporting & Control

\n
• Own balance sheet reconciliations, including control accounts and credit cards.
\n
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and resolve issues proactively.
\n
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
\n
• Lead the month-end close process and produce accurate management information.
\n

Governance & Controls

\n
• Review and strengthen internal financial controls.
\n
• Support the development of a robust controls framework.
\n
• Assist with regulatory and financial compliance requirements.
\n

Commercial Support

\n
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
\n
• Provide financial insights and commentary to senior leadership.
\n
• Support acquisition and integration activities where required.
\n

Systems & Process Improvement

\n
• Assist with finance system implementations and enhancements.
\n
• Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.
\n
• Mentor and support junior team members.
\n

About You

We're looking for a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Requirements:

• ACCA or CIMA qualified.
\n
• Experience managing month-end close and management accounts processes.
\n
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience.
\n
• Good knowledge of VAT, financial reporting, and internal controls.
\n
• Experience working in a fast-paced or complex environment.
\n
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills.
\n
• Finance systems implementation or optimisation experience is advantageous.
\n
• Previous mentoring or team leadership experience is desirable.
\n
