An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic business partnering within a complex and evolving organisation This senior finance position is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives on turning financial data into business insight, supporting decision-making at executive level, and leading high-performing finance teams.

Working closely with the Executive Finance Lead and senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will oversee the financial planning and analysis function, ensuring robust forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting processes are in place.

\n

You will play a pivotal role in helping the organisation understand financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support long-term sustainability through informed commercial decision-making.

\n

This role offers the chance to influence strategic direction while leading a team responsible for delivering meaningful financial intelligence across multiple business areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Financial Planning & Analysis team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • \n
  • Drive the annual budgeting process and oversee regular forecasting cycles to support operational and strategic planning.
  • \n
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and performance insights to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Review investment proposals, financial evaluations, and business initiatives to assess commercial viability and potential returns.
  • \n
  • Support strategic decision-making through clear financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • \n
  • Work closely with finance colleagues to deliver accurate management reporting and meaningful performance commentary.
  • \n
  • Monitor financial results against budget and forecast, identifying key risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
  • \n
  • Establish strong relationships with operational leaders to challenge assumptions, improve financial understanding, and enhance business performance.
  • \n
  • Ensure financial planning processes remain effective, efficient, and aligned with organisational objectives.

About You:

You are a commercially minded finance leader with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical recommendations. Comfortable operating at senior level, you possess strong communication skills and can build credibility with stakeholders across the organisation.

\n

You will have a track record of leading teams, influencing decision-makers, and driving continuous improvement within finance functions.

\n

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Significant post-qualification experience within financial planning and analysis (FP&A), commercial finance, or finance business partnering
  • \n
  • Demonstrable experience working with senior leadership teams in a medium or large-scale organisation.
  • \n
  • Strong business modelling and advanced Excel skills
  • \n
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate finance professionals.
  • \n
  • Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance review processes.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions and provide constructive commercial guidance.
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
