I have begun a retained search for an experienced Head of Treasury to join a UK-regulated financial institution at a pivotal stage of growth.

Working with the CEO, this leadership role will be instrumental in supporting a significant expansion of the balance sheet over the coming years. The successful candidate will take ownership of treasury strategy, liquidity, funding, capital management and market risk, ensuring the organisation remains well positioned to achieve its commercial ambitions while maintaining strong governance and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the treasury function, covering liquidity, funding and capital management.
\n
• Develop and execute treasury strategies that support profitable and sustainable growth.
\n
• Drive the development of treasury products and enhance client-related treasury capabilities.
\n
• Strengthen liquidity management, forecasting and stress-testing methodologies.
\n
• Oversee interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, counterparty risk and balance sheet management.
\n
• Maintain and enhance relationships with funding partners, market counterparties and key stakeholders.
\n
• Deliver treasury reporting, analysis and recommendations to executive and governance committees.
\n
• Support prudential requirements, including capital and liquidity planning.
\n
• Continue the development of treasury infrastructure, systems, controls and policies.
\n
• Partner closely with Finance, Risk, Operations and business teams.
\n
• Lead, develop and mentor treasury personnel while promoting a strong risk and compliance culture.
\n
• Manage FX and investment activities within approved risk parameters and governance frameworks.
\n

Candidate Profile

Applicants should bring a strong track record within a regulated banking environment and possess a blend of strategic, commercial and technical treasury expertise.

You are likely to demonstrate:

• Senior treasury leadership experience within a bank or regulated financial institution.
\n
• Strong knowledge of liquidity, funding, capital and asset-liability management.
\n
• Experience managing market risk, FX activities and treasury-related customer solutions.
\n
• An understanding of prudential regulation and treasury governance frameworks.
\n
• Experience contributing to senior committees and executive decision-making.
\n
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
\n
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
\n
• A commercially minded approach combined with sound risk judgement.
\n

Professional qualifications such as ACT, CFA, MBA or relevant finance qualifications would be advantageous.
