An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a highly regarded and growing law firm in Exeter. This role offers the chance to work with a broad range of employer and employee clients while developing your expertise across contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

This position would suit an Employment Solicitor, Employment Lawyer, Employment Associate, or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience. Applications are also welcomed from experienced Commercial or Civil Litigators looking to further specialise in employment law.

You will join an experienced and supportive Employment Law team handling a varied caseload while working closely with clients across a range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Advising employers and employees on a broad range of employment law matters
  • \n
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts
  • \n
  • Preparing service agreements for directors and senior executives
  • \n
  • Drafting and updating staff handbooks
  • \n
  • Advising on and preparing settlement agreements
  • \n
  • Managing employment aspects of business sales, acquisitions and TUPE transfers
  • \n
  • Advising on restructuring and redundancy processes
  • \n
  • Drafting and reviewing HR policies and procedures
  • \n
  • Supporting clients through grievance and disciplinary matters
  • \n
  • Representing clients in Employment Tribunal and Court proceedings
  • \n
  • Handling claims relating to unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination and breach of contract
  • \n
  • Advising on restrictive covenants, confidentiality obligations and post-termination restrictions
  • \n
  • Building and developing client relationships
  • \n
  • Participating in business development and networking activities
  • \n

Candidate Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Practising Rights
  • \n
  • Minimum 3 years PQE within Employment Law
  • \n
  • Experience managing a varied employment law caseload
  • \n
  • Strong technical knowledge of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • \n
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • \n
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development
  • \n
  • Desire to contribute to the continued growth of the Employment Law department
  • \n
