Assistant Accountant

This isn't a role where you'll spend every day doing the same repetitive tasks. Yes, you'll own the purchase ledger, but you'll also get involved in month-end, reconciliations, reporting, process improvement and projects that genuinely make a difference.

If you're studying AAT, ACCA or CIMA (or have gained your experience on the job), you'll have the opportunity to build your accounting skills alongside an experienced finance team.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing the purchase ledger from invoice processing through to supplier payments.
\n
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries.
\n
• Processing expenses, company credit cards and cashbook transactions.
\n
• Supporting month-end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
\n
• Assisting with fixed assets, intercompany accounting and management accounts preparation.
\n
• Supporting audits, VAT processes and financial compliance.
\n
• Helping improve finance processes, systems and automation.
\n
• Providing support across the wider finance function whenever needed.
\n

What do you need?

• Experience working within a finance or accounts environment.
\n
• Good Excel skills.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail.
\n
• Strong organisation and the ability to juggle priorities.
\n
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
\n
• It would be a bonus if you've worked in a multi-entity business, supported month-end processes or used ERP/accounting systems.
