Job Description

We are currently working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Leeds who are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Team.

\n

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a varied role, gaining exposure across transactional finance, month-end processes, reporting, stock accounting and financial controls.

\n

Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial information is maintained across the business, whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of finance processes.

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Managing the accounts receivable process, from invoicing through to cash allocation and reconciliation
  • \n
  • Supporting credit control activities and maintaining accurate customer accounts
  • \n
  • Reconciling bank accounts and multiple payment platforms, including credit cards and online payment providers
  • \n
  • Processing and controlling stock transactions within the ERP system
  • \n
  • Assisting with stock reconciliations and stock valuations across multiple sites
  • \n
  • Preparing accruals, prepayments and month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • \n
  • Processing and reconciling intercompany transactions
  • \n
  • Producing financial analysis and supporting ad hoc reporting requirements
  • \n
  • Supporting finance improvement projects, including ERP system implementation
  • \n

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a finance or accounts environment
  • \n
  • AAT qualified, part-qualified, or actively working towards a relevant qualification
  • \n
  • Strong Excel skills with excellent attention to detail
  • \n
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • \n
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • \n
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
  • \n
