CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator (Twilight Shift)

Are you an experienced CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator who can confidently set, prove and operate CNC lathes while producing high-quality precision components This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business investing heavily in its machining capability and future growth. Working a four-day twilight shift, you'll play a key role in producing precision aluminium components within a modern, quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities

\n
• Set, prove and operate CNC Vertical Lathes.
\n
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
\n
• Machine precision components to tight tolerances.
\n
• Complete first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
\n
• Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and other measuring equipment.
\n
• Monitor tooling performance and suggest process improvements.
\n
• Record inspection results, downtime and scrap accurately.
\n
• Support continuous improvement activities while maintaining high safety standards.
\n

Skills & Knowledge Required

\n
• Previous experience as a CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator or CNC Lathe Setter.
\n
• Ability to read engineering drawings confidently.
\n
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
\n
• Good understanding of machining tolerances.
\n
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
\n
• Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
\n
• Proactive approach with pride in producing quality work.
\n
• Experience with PUMA CNC machines would be advantageous but is not essential.
\n
