Cross-Skilled Engineer
Job Description
The Multi-Skilled Engineer responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical plant equipment, ensuring optimum performance and minimal downtime. You'll support fault finding, breakdown response, plant upgrades and continuous improvement projects, while working collaboratively to maintain high standards of safety, reliability and operational efficiency.

\nDescription
\nKeeping the plant running
\n\n- \n
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical equipment \n
- Fault finding and resolving issues quickly to reduce downtime \n
- Working on a range of plant including pumps, motors, conveyors, fans, filters and mills \n
- Improving performance \n
- Supporting equipment upgrades, installations and improvement projects \n
- Identifying root causes of breakdowns and helping prevent repeat issues \n
- Recording work and contributing to continuous improvement \n
Planning & teamwork
\n\n- \n
- Coordinating with supervisors to plan maintenance and shutdown work \n
- Making sure parts and resources are available when needed \n
- Working collaboratively within a close-knit engineering team \n
- Working safely \n
- Following Imerys safety standards, permits and procedures \n
- Completing risk assessments and maintaining safe working practices \n
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and compliant \n
Profile
\nEssential
\n\n- \n
- Engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment \n
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent apprenticeship) \n
- Experience with planned maintenance and breakdown response \n
- Strong commitment to health & safety \n
- Valid license to drive in the UK \n
Desirable
\n\n- \n
- Multi-skilled experience across mechanical and electrical systems \n
- Mobile plant licences (e.g. forklift, MEWP, telehandler) \n
- Welding or fabrication skills \n
- Confined space training \n
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP \n

Job Offer

- Competitive salary up to £35,457.87 DOE with additional earning potential (shift, standby & overtime) \n
- Location: Cliffe Vale, Stoke-on-Trent \n
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week \n
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent \n
