£27,000 - £32,000 DOE + Study Support & Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to join a growing, modern business where your ideas are valued and technology is transforming the finance function?

Our client is a successful multi-brand consumer business with a strong e-commerce presence and an ambitious growth strategy. As they continue to invest in automation, digital finance and process improvements, they're looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant to become a key member of their finance team.

\n

The Role\n

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day transactional finance while supporting wider finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing supplier invoices and maintaining an accurate purchase ledger
  • \n
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account queries
  • \n
  • Managing payment provider reconciliations across multiple platforms
  • \n
  • Completing bank reconciliations and supporting weekly payment runs
  • \n
  • Assisting with supplier onboarding and finance administration
  • \n
  • Managing day-to-day credit control and customer account reconciliations
  • \n
  • Supporting month-end activities, including accruals and aged creditor reviews
  • \n
  • Assisting with the rollout of improved purchase order processes
  • \n
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and automate manual finance processes
  • \n
About You\n

We're looking for someone who has:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role
  • \n
  • Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • \n
  • Experience with supplier accounts and credit control
  • \n
  • Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • \n
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to improve processes
  • \n

The following would be advantageous, but not essential:

  • Experience within retail, e-commerce or a multi-entity business
  • \n
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central experience
  • \n
  • Experience with automated purchase ledger systems
  • \n
  • AAT studies (or an interest in studying, with support available)
  • \n
  • An interest in automation, Power Query or AI tools
  • \n
