Health & Safety Manager Pay: £50,000.00-£70,000.00 per year Locations: Manchester & Birmingham Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering complex projects across sectors including civil engineering, rail, utilities, infrastructure, groundworks, structures and commercial developments. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across multiple projects in the North and Midlands regions. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide professional health and safety support across a portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures and industry best practice. Key responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager include: · Providing proactive H&S leadership and support to project teams and operational management. · Conducting regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations. · Advising on risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work. · Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. · Monitoring compliance with company standards, statutory requirements and client expectations. · Delivering health and safety training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives. · Supporting the development and continual improvement of H&S policies and management systems. · Producing reports, KPIs and trend analysis to support performance improvement. · Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders to promote best practice. Essential requirements for the Health and Safety Manager: · NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent. · Membership of IOSH (GradIOSH or CMIOSH desirable). · Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering. · Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and industry standards. · Experience of conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations. · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. · Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between projects.
