Survey CAD Modelling Technician

KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking a Survey CAD Modelling Technician.This role focuses on supporting the survey engineers, by processing raw data gathered from site surveys and completing survey modelling requests. The role will have a particular focus on processing laser scanner surveys. The ideal candidate will have significant experience operating 2D and 3D CAD programmes, and an understanding of surveying and the construction industry.Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.Your team Location: Devonport Dockyard, PlymouthContract: Permanent, 42.5 hours a weekMaking Possible In this role as Survey CAD Modelling Technician, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day tasks will include:Verify and process survey data from field surveyors. Process total station surveys to report on constructions stagesProcess laser scanning surveys. Clean and model surveys to determine if construction tolerances have been metEnsure survey data is collected and recorded accurately, following project QA/QC standardsProvide drawing and modelling services from survey or design data to support the survey, engineering and construction teamsAssist with the implementation of quality control procedures, particularly in accordance with QC1 requirements; maintaining the highest standards of traceability, tolerances, reportingManage and archive survey files and records to support project compliance and audits, using the Projects Document Management systemSupport the Business Systems Manager and wider Business Excellence team as requiredThis profile is not exhaustive. Essential:Degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, or ConstructionStrong skills in AutoCAD (Civil3D) and RevitConsiderable years of experience in a similar position within the construction industryKnowledge of BIM or digital construction processesUnderstanding of document control and reporting requirementsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesCSCS Card and relevant site safety qualificationsMember of the CinstCES (or technical member working towards full member), or another bodySite based role, hybrid or home based role will be consideredDesirable:Experience with survey processing software; Leica Infinity/Leica Cyclone 3DFamiliarity survey equipment; total stations, GPS/GNSS and laser scannersUnderstanding of QC1 procedures and quality documentation in a civils contextWhats in it for you?
