Assistant Financial Manager/ Controller

Location: Warrington Area (Office-Based)

\n

Salary: £45,000 - £59,000 + Benefits

This role will operate across multiple business units, and as the company is expanding through both organic growth and acquisitions, it will create a varied and commercially focused role with significant exposure to financial reporting, controls, systems, and integration projects.

The Role

\n

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in supporting performance reporting, strengthening financial controls, and assisting with the integration of newly acquired businesses.

\n

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and maintaining financial scorecards, dashboards and management reports.
  • \n
  • Delivering meaningful financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • \n
  • Reviewing and improving internal control processes and compliance procedures.
  • \n
  • Assisting with group and statutory reporting requirements.
  • \n
  • Supporting internal and external audit activity.
  • \n
  • Working collaboratively with operational and shared service teams across the business.
  • \n
  • Managing and monitoring stock and work-in-progress controls.
  • \n
  • Supporting acquisition and business integration projects.
  • \n
  • Assisting with financial system implementations and data migrations.
  • \n
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial accuracy.
  • \n
  • Helping develop enhanced reporting processes and financial insights.
  • \n

About You

\n

The successful candidate will be a proactive finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and working within a fast-paced environment.

\n

You will ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be advanced part qualified or in the final stages of qualification).
  • \n
  • At least five years' finance and accounting experience.
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • \n
  • Previous experience using SAP or an ERP system an advantage
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • \n
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • \n
  • A collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
  • \n
  • Experience within a service-led organisation would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Exposure to acquisitions, integrations or project-based finance work would be beneficial.
  • \n
