Axon Moore is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established business for an experienced Part-Time Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking for a flexible role with genuine autonomy and responsibility.Working closely with the leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the timely production of financial information, maintaining robust financial controls and supporting key business decisions. This role would suit an experienced Accountant or Management Accountant seeking a flexible working arrangement. Key Responsibilities\n

- Prepare monthly management accounts and associated financial reports. \n
- Manage the month-end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. \n
- Maintain accurate financial records and oversee the day-to-day accounting function. \n
- Complete bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations. \n
- Manage the purchase ledger, supplier payments and cash flow. \n
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. \n
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting. \n
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other professional advisers. \n
- Support payroll administration where required. \n
- Review and improve financial processes, controls and reporting. \n
- Provide financial insight and ad hoc analysis to support business performance. \n
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial procedures. \n

- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role with responsibility for producing management accounts. \n
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of month-end processes. \n
- Experience of bookkeeping, VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations. \n
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. \n
- The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business. \n
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify improvements and add value. \n
- AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience. \n
