School Finance Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and organised Finance Assistant to work at a school based in Smiths Wood. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in an educational environment and is looking to make a positive contribution to the day-to-day financial operations of a school.

As the Finance Assistant, your duties will include:

• Acting as the first point of contact for all incoming finance-related queries, both verbal and written, responding where appropriate or escalating matters as required.
\n
• Inputting standing information into the Trust's finance system, including supplier and debtor records, in line with established procedures.
\n
• Processing purchase orders from requisitions accurately and efficiently, ensuring all authorisation procedures and agreed timescales are met.
\n
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team with daily administrative tasks.
\n
• Assisting with general finance administration to ensure the smooth running of the department.
\n

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

\n
• Previous experience working within a finance or accounts environment.
\n
• Purchase Ledger experience.
\n
• Knowledge of IRIS Financials and Procurement systems.
\n
• Previous finance experience within the education sector.
\n
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
\n
• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
\n
• A professional, reliable and proactive approach to work.
\n
