Ambition Europe Limited
Chatham, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

About the role

\n
\n If you're recently qualified and ready to deepen your technical expertise in financial reporting, this is an opportunity worth exploring.\n
\n
\n Our client is a well-established professional services firm with a dedicated Financial Reporting team embedded within its broader Accounts service line. The team currently delivers high-quality statutory accounts in support of internal audit functions, and is now preparing to take that offering to market, opening up genuine scope to work on larger and more complex external assignments alongside external auditors.\n
\n
\n You'll take ownership of a portfolio of financial reporting engagements, work alongside experienced partners and managers, and play a meaningful role in shaping the quality and direction of a growing team. If you're technically strong, organised, and motivated by both detail and development, this role offers real substance and long-term progression.\n
What you'll be doing\n
    \n
  • Manage a portfolio of financial reporting accounts, maintaining high technical standards and ensuring efficient, timely delivery
  • \n
  • Collaborate with audit teams, partners, and other service lines to support the smooth completion of engagements
  • \n
  • Act as a key contact for nominated clients and audit teams on financial reporting matters
  • \n
  • Prepare, review, and delegate assignments in line with agreed budgets and internal quality standards
  • \n
  • Work on larger, more complex accounts, including consolidations, and research technical issues, escalating where appropriate
  • \n
  • Supervise, support, and review the work of junior colleagues, including semi-seniors, assistants, and offshore team members
  • \n
  • Monitor progress across multiple simultaneous engagements, managing deadlines and stakeholder expectations
  • \n
  • Ensure all files are complete, review-ready, and meet documentation and compliance standards
  • \n
  • Address review points raised by managers, directors, and partners in a timely and considered way
  • \n
  • Support the development of junior colleagues through clear task planning, constructive feedback, and day-to-day coaching
  • \n
  • Contribute to service line growth through collaborative working and business development activity
  • \n
What we're looking for\n
    \n
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation
  • \n
  • Hands-on experience preparing consolidations and managing complex financial reporting assignments
  • \n
  • A recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members
  • \n
  • Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with audit teams, clients, and senior stakeholders
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without compromising quality
  • \n
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement
  • \n
Nice to have\n
    \n
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • \n
  • Prior exposure to client-facing or external financial reporting engagements
