A highly reputable manufacturer are seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead the development of a world-class safety
\n\nAbout the Role
\nReporting to the Business Excellence & Quality Director, you will take ownership of the site's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy, driving continuous improvement across manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, maintenance, and logistics operations.
\nYou'll combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach, spending time on the shop floor, engaging with colleagues, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping create an environment where safety is everyone's responsibility.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver the site's Health & Safety strategy and improvement plans. \n
- Lead by example through visible shop floor engagement and coaching. \n
- Build a proactive safety culture through behavioural safety principles, learning teams, and effective near-miss reporting. \n
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation, including HASAWA, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, MHSWR and related regulations. \n
- Lead audits, inspections and corrective action programmes. \n
- Embed health and safety into operational excellence and continuous improvement activities. \n
- Develop practical communications including toolbox talks, safety alerts and training materials. \n
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses. \n
- Maintain and continually improve the site's ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System. \n
- Manage internal audits, corrective actions, document control and management reviews. \n
Person Specification
\n- \n
- Proven Health & Safety leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. \n
- Experience working with manufacturing processes including machinery, assembly operations and warehousing/logistics. \n
- Professional membership or working towards (CMIOSH) \n
- NEBOSH General Certificate / NEBOSH Diploma (desirable) \n
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and its practical application. \n
- Experience maintaining and improving ISO 45001 management systems. \n
- Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents and deliver long-term corrective actions. \n
- Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills. \n
